Inauguration of the New Branch 'Aakar' at MKSSS

June 14, 2025 – On the occasion of the 129th foundation day of Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha, a special program was organized at the institution today. As per tradition, a collective prayer was held at 8:00 AM at the Samadhi Sthal of Maharshi Karve, known as Vrindavan Bagh. To commemorate the day, the institution inaugurated a new branch named 'Aakar'. The primary objective of this branch is the 'Revival of Indian Knowledge Traditions', inspired by the Punarutthan Vidyapith in Ahmedabad.

Last year, in 2024, the Baya Karve Award was presented to Smt. Indumati Katdare, the Chancellor of Punarutthan Vidyapith. This connection led to the establishment of the 'Aakar' branch. Punarutthan Vidyapith is engrossed in making the courses, literature, and teacher training based upon Indian knowledge system, since 2004. Considering the importance of reviving these traditions in today's materialistic era and Maharshi Karve's emphasis on Indian values in women's education, the institution decided to initiate such work through the 'Aakar' branch.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by Shri Vinod Singh, a scholar from Punarutthan Vidyapith and currently managing a Cowshed in Palghar. Special guest Mrs. Anjali Patel, National Co-Chairperson of the Kutumb Prabodhan Mission by RSS in the USA, also attended. Other dignitaries included Shri Ravindra Dev (Chairman), Management Committee members Shri Jayant Inamdar, Mrs. Seema Kamble, CA Abhay Kulkarni, Dr. P.V.S. Shastri (Secretary), and Mrs. Kanchan Satpute (Deputy Secretary).

CA Abhay Kulkarni, President of 'Aakar', highlighted the importance of education based on Indian knowledge traditions, referencing Lord Macaulay's introduction of Western education that led to the loss of indigenous knowledge. He emphasized the need to revive Indian educational systems and presented the purpose of starting the 'Aakar' branch.

Shri Mahendra Wagh introduced the chief guests, and they were formally welcomed with traditional Indian gifts. The 'Aakar' charter was unveiled, marking the official inauguration of the branch.

Mrs. Anjali Patel, in her address, emphasized the importance of life values, stating that understanding their significance prevents them from being lost. She noted that the lack of communication within families leads to issues like depression among children and stressed the need to foster communication and friendship in society.

Shri Vinod Singh congratulated MKSSS for initiating the 'Aakar' branch and highlighted the detrimental effects of Western education on Indian society. He advocated for adopting Indian educational practices to build a strong society and assured that Punarutthan Vidyapith would extend all necessary support to the 'Aakar' branch.

Akshada Kulkarni, Principal of the MKSSS’s Aaruni Vidya Mandir' and Head of the 'Aakaar' branch and it concluded with, 'Pasaydan', sung by Mrs. Aishwarya Paranjape.
