Smita Kulkarni elected President of MKSSS

At the Annual General Meeting of the Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha (MKSSS) held on 25 July this year, Smt. Smita Kulkarni was unanimously elected as the new President of the Samstha.
As the terms of office of the President and Vice-Presidents of the institution were due to expire in September this year, the related election process was conducted at the Annual General Meeting. Accordingly, all the Vice-Presidents from the previous term were re-elected for another five-year term. They include Shri. Shashikant Sutar, Dr. Dhananjay Kelkar, Shri. Sagar Dhole-Patil, and Shri. Kedar Shalgar. Smt. Smita Kulkarni, who served as a Vice-President during the previous term, was unanimously elected as the President of MKSSS.
Smt. Smita Kulkarni holds postgraduate qualifications in Sociology and Social Work, as well as a Diploma in Counselling. She has been actively involved in various social initiatives for several years. She has been working as a counsellor and development consultant for the past 34 years. She is also associated with Bharati Vidyapeeth and YASHADA as a guest lecturer.
She regularly writes for various periodicals on subjects such as the Indian institution of marriage, mental health, relationships, issues concerning young men and women, and various challenges faced by children. She also delivers talks on a range of social issues through All India Radio, Pune, and FM radio. She is further contributing to society as a member of the State Council of the Kutumba Prabodhan initiative.
Upon completion of the term of the present President, Smt. Smita Ghaisas, Smt. Smita Kulkarni will assume office as the new President of the Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha with effect from 28 September 2026.
