Our founder Bharatratna Maharshi Dhondo Keshav Karve started the noble work of Women Empowerment Through Education in the city of Pune. The first building of MKSSS, a mud hut for the students was built on the barren lands at the outskirts of the village Hingne near Pune. The village is now well-known as Karvenagar. The mud hut “Zopadi” is still preserved at the Karvenagar campus of MKSSS. From that small mud hut, MKSSS has evolved like a Banyan Tree. Various schools, colleges and other educational institutes adorn the Karvenagar Campus today. In the city of Pune, MKSSS also runs schools and colleges located at Erandawane, Narhe, Wadgaon Sheri and schools in the Pune University campus. The hostel facility for working women is available at the Mahila niwas (Working women’s Hostel) which are run at Deccan, Natubaug and near Pune Municipal Corporation. The complete list of the institute and schools run in Pune is given below.
