Smt. Bakul Tambat Institute of Nursing Education was established in the year 2000, affiliated to Maharashtra Nursing Council and Maharashtra University of Health Sciences.

The college has started with a batch of 20 students; the institute has acquired a reputation for quality education in a short span of 9 years for 450 girl students.

The institute is “committed to developing conscientious, confident and caring quality nursing professionals of international repute”.

The institute is housed in a clean, spacious and green campus. Essential facilities like a bank, hostels, health club and post office are housed in the campus itself. The institute has its own building with spacious classrooms, a counseling centre, a conference room, nursing arts laboratory, community laboratory, nutrition room, library and staff room.

The institute provides clinical experience for its students through collaboration with the Jnana Prabodhini Medical Trust, which runs the 150-bed Sanjeevan Hospital and 450-bed Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital. Both hospitals are adequately staffed and well equipped with the latest technology.

The Smt. Bakul Tambat Institute of Nursing Education has an experienced and committed faculty comprising of full-time and external lecturers. Doctors from the Jnana Prabodhini Medical Trust take keen interest in teaching in the clinical area.

The institute has a spacious nursing arts laboratory with mannequins, models and audio-visual aids imported from Germany and USA. Students are taught practical procedures in the laboratory and then sent to hospitals under supervision for clinical learning.

The cultural cell of the institute, a part of the Student Nurses Association, organizes various co-curricular activities throughout the year. Students are encouraged to participate in various intercollegiate competitions like the annual Verve competition organized by the Indian Express Youth Forum.
